On the side of the piano is a Buddha figure of Gundari Myo'o with eight hands. The weapons and axes in his hands were put aside and he was asked to play Tchaikovsky's symphony arranged for piano 8 hands, but in reality, four pianists would play it on two pianos. There is a four-hand version of the symphony by Tchaikovsky himself, since the piano arrangement of the symphony was part of his contract with the publisher, but Langer's version is an eight-hand version (two sets of consecutive pianos) that can pick up more of the notes of the orchestral score. When performing the piano arranged version of the symphony, we thought that a faster tempo setting would be more effective than the proper tempo, which was carefully considered in consideration of the sustained sound of the orchestral instruments, and as a result, we were able to fit the two symphonies on a single CD.
