J.S.Bach Keyboard Concerto No.1 in D Minor BWV 1052, arr. for a piano by A. Stradal

  • english description

It is highly probable that the original was a violin concerto, but the score has been lost. Later, Bach himself arranged it as an organ concerto, used it in a cantata, and further refined it into its present form as a harpsichord concerto. It is considered a masterpiece of piano concerto by Mendelssohn, Schumann, and others, and is often performed even today. Stradal's arrangement is generally superb, with the solo part in one hand and the orchestra part in the other.
